About EveChem
EveChem is a multidisciplinary collaboration of geologists, chemists and engineers drawn together by a passion for a sustainable future and desire to support the
transition to a green economy.
Australian funded, EveChem focuses on using existing, new and emerging technologies to resolve issues around supply of critical raw materials.

Lithium
Lithium supply is fundamental to the European transition to a green economy with demand driven by growth in Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage.

The German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) predicts a shortage of up to 1,500,000tpa LCE in the next decade.

With 600-850GWh of new lithium battery cell production in EU ‘Gigafactories’ planned by 2030, lithium is classified as a Critical Raw Material with a requirement for 10% of supply to come from within the EU

2020: 436,500 tons of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE) were produced worldwide.
2030: global demand will be between 2,750,000tpa and 5,000,000tpa LCE.

"We must avoid becoming dependent again, as we did with oil and gas. […]
We will identify strategic projects all along the supply chain, from extraction to
refining, from processing to recycling”
Ursula von der Leyen
Direct Lithium Extraction
Evechem seek to develop new lithium supply based on Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology and naturally occurring lithium enriched brine.

The DLE process pumps brine high in lithium through a re-useable selective media - usually lithium sorbent or ion-exchange resin. Lithium is recovered from brine which is then re-injected back underground.

DLE produces Lithium in a clean, cost effective, and environmentally sustainable way with a very small surface footprint and unparalleled environmental impact relative to all other forms of current lithium production
Projects
EveChem are advancing projects to secure, long-term, strategic lithium supply to support European battery manufacturing and energy transition.

Evechem have identified areas where historic exploration for oil and gas have already indicated a strong potential for the presence of lithium rich brines.

Evechem has been awarded 800km2 of exploration licences in two areas of Lower Saxony (Ehra and Clenze) and are conducting desktop analysis to identify priority targets for detailed evaluation.
